I was naturally blonde, then auburn, and now at 50 i have so much gray that i get highlights only once a year to blend the gray with the dark.
When i started going gray about 3 or 4 years ago, i tried henna but it dried my hair out! (executive silver, i like to all it, ala dilbert.) there is no way to naturally turn all your hair grey in a uniform manner. Until now my decision had been to color it, but it was certainly a very costly one. While going grey has to be accepted as an inevitability, deciding whether or not to reach for the bottle remains.
